Our school provides educational programs for students aged between 3-18 years with an intellectual impairment. A large percentage of our school population also has additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments.

Before a child can enrol at a special school, they must meet the following criteria:

  • The person has a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA).
  • The person has a severe disability which includes an Intellectual Disability.
  • The person is unlikely to attain the levels of development which the person is capable unless the person receives special education.
  • The person's educational program is best delivered in a special school taking into account the appropriateness of this placement for the individual concerned.

The opportunity to enrol at Ipswich Special School is available all year round and is not restricted to students from a specific geographical area. However, parents will generally need to reside in our catchment to receive transport assistance.

Please contact us if you have any queries regarding enrolment at our school.
